Company Formation FAQ - The Objects of a Company

A company's memorandum of association must contain a clause which delimits the general commercial objects of the company. The objects of a company are generally expressed in such a way as to give the company broad powers, for example: -

Based on Companies Act 2006, a company limited by shares' objects are unrestricted unless specifically restricted in the articles of association. Any amendment of the objects must be registered at Companies House and is not effective until entered on the register.
